The problem: This is probably going to seem extremely biased as I'm in Dalmati and all, but the very fact that a coalition is held back in the rankings per season because it's done well in past seasons seems... off, to me. Some form of nerfing down the impact this has against a coalition seems in order, because it feels off that the coalition that holds the top leaderboard ranking going undefeated still only earns it the 7th highest ranking last season. Proposed solutions: What I'm not suggesting is an overall competence reset. This proposes many obvious problems like how people would immediately CW weaker clans at the start of a season while it was worth more points to them, as well as the fact that overall rankings are a nice feature in themselves. However, I propose one of the following: 1) Overall just reducing the amount that competence affects matches. Obviously this solution has some drawbacks, like the possibility that a coalition may just CW a lot of weaker ones in order to get a high ranking. 2) Do somewhat of a competence reset every season, but instead of just fully resetting it, start coalitions off with some form of an accurate competence estimation. This new competence could be based off of the previous, or perhaps off of the coalition's overall ranking last season. And maybe keep around a second "Overall" competence leaderboard, on top of the one for "current season".
