Grepolis

Does anyone play grepolis?

I'm surprised you'd be playing a game about ancient GREEKS...

I have played Grepolis some years ago and i played it for like 3 years that time.

I must warn you ^^, it is very stressful, due to the fact that it is an time based game, meaning you make an action, for example building some troops, that needs 10 minutes to finish, then you do another action like conquer another town..

This conquer usually need about 6 to 24 hours, depending on the servers (world-) speed set, and can be very stressful, as you might be attacked yourself too.

I played one world for two years in a row, and actually won it, but it was a pain in the ass, my ally finished all world wonders on the last minutes (building some twice due to several destructions) because the members who should been guarding them just vanished.

I decided not to play anymore because if you want to play successful you need to check your status almost every (!) 4 hours to be able to react properly,
and even MORE stressful is, to guard the towns and conquers you have achieved then. and i was also tired of the emergency phonecalls 2a.m. in the night XD.

Well, try it .. but don't complain getting addicted,
you might also try the japanese servers too, they are kind of wired funny

So basically, Grepolis is copy of Travian?

Used to play until they 'upgraded' the game which made the game especially laggy, and they removed the unlimited time worlds.

when you have a few cities, the extra time is only a second or two, but when you have 25+ cities, what used to took an hour to manage, then took 2 or more as all those 'seconds' added up.
