Everyone is living a myth and it's important to know what yours is. It could be a tragedy- and maybe you don't want it to be.

If Washington normalize relations with Cuba, that means it have to normalize relations with North Korea as well. Which wont happen, so it should not with Cuba also.

You can't compare NK to Cuba

USA had much bigger war with Vietnam
Cuba is not a threat to the world like NK

Yes because sanctions are good

Cuba has relatively good health care and depending on who you ask, some rankings show Cubans have higher life expectancy than US (WHO ranks Cuba 37, ahead of US at 40 => http://en.wikipedia.org/wiki/List_of_countries_by_life_expectancy#List_by_the_United_Nations.2C_for_2009.E2.80.932012 - this despite being sanctioned.

Sanctions can be considered a free-will violation though - if US model was truly superior, they wouldn't need sanctions to make their point, as they would lead by example and everyone would exercise their freewill, and aspire to the US model if it demonstrated its success inherently. Imposing sanctions makes certain people desperate, and so the free-will choice is violated in compelling a Cuban to live a certain way in order to lift sanctions for essentials.

Not here to defend the course of history just pointing out that it is much to simplistic to point at Castro (and others) for taking decisions under the particular circumstances: Cuba being the immediate back-yard of US imperialism.
