For example: This city produces "insert number here" "insert resource here"
This unit costs "insert number here" "insert resource here"
this will help a lot of custom maps, for example What if we make that some cities give u Oil, or Wood, Or Manpower, or Slaves.
Some cities could give u more than 2 resources at the same time.

For some reason this idea reminds me heavily much of a strategy game called Supremacy1914, regardless it sounds like a good idea, but it'll make things more complex.

Support, yet i think it would make the game lean too heavily to the civ side. this game is only perfect because it is balanced.

Bump for support.
Best if you could add up to 5 new resources, for the very complex scenarios.

Sort of confused, but do you mean like different types of currency? (Rubles, Marks, Dollars, Pesos, Yen?) or different types of literal resources? (Iron, Wire, Water, Copper, Onyx?)

It seems a bit complicated, but I do like the idea. For example, in a WWII, you could add all the oil in southern Russia and the Middle East for Germany to try and capture.

Support. having additional resources to make a unit would make the game much more interesting, because it forces you give certain cities more priority then it would normally have

In addition to this, what if you could make maintenance and unit cost different resources?
So you buy units with, say, steel, but pay the upkeep cost in oil, and if you run out of oil, then you can't build units anymore.
