Let's see what your desktop looks like! NOTE: You must post your desktop before you post in here! Here's mine (click here for just the WP in 1920*1200 resolution): EDIT: resized so it's not that damn huge.

How can you people have so many icons on your desktops?! Surely you don't use Foxit Reader every day, Pinheiro. I only put on mine what I use on a daily basis. I have a small but excellent selection of games in my PC but I pretty much play a different one every day so I don't find it practical to stick them on the desktop. Personally, I use the start menu for most other programs which I've neatly separated into "Applications", "Office" (MS Office, image editing) and "Games" (has a subfolder named utilities where I put Steam and stuff). Nice and simple. No need for any desktop pizazz programs like Stardock's products.

I like Kaptain_Kraut's desktop. Just black, a few icons (and a quickmap to programs) with a high resolution (i think). Just no-noncense: The way it should be

Might as well post my preferred desktop... I actually only installed this Linux distribution today after hearing much about it and I'm really happy with it! Even better than openSUSE (!) as long as you know how to partition a drive (doesn't do it automatically for you).

Chakra. Basically Arch without an extremely difficult install and a focus on being more stable. It's called a "semi-rolling release"--that means they test the shit out of things before they added to the repos unlike Arch that just sticks whatever's the newest on there. Still faster than Debian's infamous stable repo. It's like a nice third way between them. Also, it focuses exclusively on KDE and it offers all KDE software but leaves out most GTK apps on purpose (I don't blame them!). I like Konqueror but I had all my bookmarks and stuff in Opera so I kept on using that. It consumes an awful lot of resources in Linux unfortunately, but it's still a top-tier browser. As for Chakra, it's pretty much only second to SUSE or it even beats that level of professionalism depending on how you look at it. I haven't tried Pardus though and that's funded by a country with a booming economy and it's bound to be good. Again, it's all very much plain KDE on an Arch base (but repos are not fully compatible) but it's really good as everything integrates so nicely! You should try it. My only complaint is that I must download a lot of software as even important things like office software and an image editing program aren't included on the disc. Otherwise, rock 'n' roll!
