I have noticed that on maps and scenarios the South Atlantic islands that Argentines (and a huge part of the world) we call Islas Malvinas, appears on these maps only the name of Falklands Islands.

Beyond the policy of each one on this issue, I suggest that on each map name and each scenario name is called as "Islas Malvinas (capital "Puerto Argentino") / Falkland Islands (capital "Port Stanley") , as does Google Maps for the UK. I quote a screenshot.

https://www.google.co.uk/maps/@-51.7786438,-58.5162877,7z?hl=es-419

I suggest this would be a way to create "neutrals" games without enter in political disputes.

Regards.

They are just the Falklands. Britain controls them and exercises sovereignty over them. Any claims to the contrary can only be backed up by force.

If you take the islands for Argentina than sure they will be the Malvinas.

Pretty much the entire world except Argentina agrees that Falklands are Falklands, including the inhabitants of the Falklands themselves. Just because some retards from a country that was literally bankrupt a few years ago believe otherwise doesn't make them a disputed territory.

Actually Falkland islands should give pretty good amount of income as they're considered rich with oil, gas and lots of sheeps. Adding it would balance the income of South and Latin America maps.

The war does not confer rights over a territory, but the historical and geographical reasons.

Either way, it is not my intention to open a debate on the Malvinas issue. If anyone is interested in a debate on this issue, you can open a thread about it.

Argentina is a sovereign nation recognized by the whole world, including Spain. The world through the United Nations recognizes las Malvinas as a colony and not as a legitimate territory of the United Kingdom.

How does that change anything?

The reason you are claiming Falklands is because of historical reasons............the same reason why Spain can claim most of South America...

Spain several years that recognized the independence of the American colonies ago. This comparison does not apply to Malvinas.

You can't really consider a colony when they have representation and most of their population is english and has an english culture. They are an Overseas Territory and ultraperipheric region of the EU. I would argue more that French Guyana is closer to a colony than Falklands.

You invaded it, fought for it, invaded foreign soil and you were defeated. You sort of lost your rights to claim a fully english territory. Doesn't really matter how far you are from the actual metropolis if your population and culture is equal to that of the UK itself.

Following your logic, Kerguelen Islands, who are owned by France, should be claimed by South Africa or Australia? They're close to the Kerguelens than France itself is..

Historical and Geographical reasons aren't exact reasons to claim territories, otherwise europe could claim every non-european territory.

Your opinion is contrary to international law it says. For one thing, the world recognizes Malvinas as a colony, and not as a legitimate territory of the United Kingdom.

70% of the World is made of former colonies with a deep anti-european culture sentiment or anti-colonial sentiment. I think Falklands are a territory of the United Kingdom.

Like David Cameron said, the Falklanders will continue to be in the United Kingdom aslong as they want.

1- Have a look at Africa, Asia, America and Oceania. All of them were colonies of European nations.

2- It's the current British position regarding self-determination within their territory.

The war does not confer rights over a territory, but the historical and geographical reasons.

Here we can see the Argentinian claim that because the Falklands was briefly part of Argentina, it is rightfully Argentinian land, despite it having a much longer history under British rule than Argentinian rule. The second claim is that because the Falklands are geographically close to Argentina, it therefore belongs to Argentina somehow, just like how Guam belongs to Japan, Kaliningrad belongs to Poland, and Greenland belongs to Canada.

Eshkruar nga Medieval Knight, 24.05.2016 at 18:46

Argentina is a sovereign nation recognized by the whole world, including Spain. The world through the United Nations recognizes las Malvinas as a colony and not as a legitimate territory of the United Kingdom.

Here the Argie makes two claims. The first is that the world apparently recognizes the Falklands as a colony. The second claim is that international recognition, and not the will of the people who actually live there, is what matters in territorial disputes.

Eshkruar nga Medieval Knight, 24.05.2016 at 19:14

Once again, we see a sweeping claim without any evidence.

Eshkruar nga Medieval Knight, 24.05.2016 at 20:25

The principle of self-determination is not applicable to the colonies.

And finally, in this statement, the Argie admits that he doesn't actually care about the will of the islanders (who overwhelmingly want to be part of Britain) and he only cares about his retarded nationalism.

First, go with respect, as I do with you and in no time I made fun of your nationality.
Second, if you want to extend the Argentina position on Malvinas, open a topic and taste will bring everything I can. If you look the purpose of this topic is not just open a debate.
And finally, do not put intentions in me that I not speak up. Any questions you have about what I think about a subject, ask me, okay ?.
