I was watching this atwar board ranking thread made my phoenix and i saw many 10s there reminded me of school grade system we had in albania. For example we had our lowest grade 4 (which can fail your semetres and school year if you keep getting it), 5,6,7,8,9,10 (best grade) From these , 4,5,6 were bad grades......7,8 were ok but not acceptable by our parents lol ..... 9,10 were awesome and 10 could get you in balkanian ,european, world olimpiads of mathematic, biology and general knowledge. I know in usa they go by letters like A B C D E F where A is the best grade and F is the worst. How is it in your country?

Canada has the same as the US, except we use R instead of F for 49% and under... I think it's because F stands for fail and R is remedial or something so they wanted to be less harsh. Otherwise the letter grades would just correspond to percent brackets (A+ = over 90%).

On top of the A,B,C,D,F grading where each of them were 10 points apart. When I went to private school we went based off a a 7 point grading scale.

In Serbia we have 1-5 grade system. 1 and 2 are the worst grades, you will be forced to repeat the same academic year if you have 4 or more grades of 1. 3 is an acceptable grade. 4 and 5 are the best grades. There is a little difference between 4 and 5, mostly students that do good exams, but are shy to discuss in class about lessons have grades of 4.

1 is best and 6 is worst, anything worse than a 5 is almost humanly impossible, a 4 means you got 50% right, anything lower than that and you have to retry.

India Private schools use grades: A++ for 95+%, A+ for 85-95%, A for 75-85%, B for 65-75%, C for 55-65%, D for 45-55%, E for 35-45%, F for anything below 35% which is Fail Public Schools simply use a percentage system without grades where 35% and above is pass. [Also idk about you guys, but here, schools are obliged to pass you to 8th grade no matter your marks. I could fail every subject and they'd still have to pass me until 8th grade. After that, they're free to fail you for terrible performance. It's kind of the law to ensure everyone gets schooling till the 8th]

You have exams before 3rd? Wow that sucks Exams in India start only from 5th grade. Until then you get grades without percentages where A is excellent, B is above average and so on (for writing skills, mathematics skills, grammar, handwriting etc)

In Croatia: 1 (insufficient) - Worst grade; you failed an exam 2 (sufficient) - Very bad, but you passed an exam 3 (good) - not bad, still not well done 4 (very good) - your knowledge is fine 5 (excellent) - Hello Einstein IMO, grades are fucked up way of evaluating someones knowledge, especially at oral exams. It all comes to techer's subjective experience about you as person, not about your real knowledge. I remember myself in elementary school and gymnasium, I was excellent pupil, but I always had problems with professors because they are all bunch of subjective frustrates jerks whose main aim was not teaching us but competing us with their arrogance and thinking they are the smartest authorities who drunk all world's mind. I always hated authorities, especially those who constantly force it and I will never respect it becsuse they were not respecting us as their students but looked on us as their possible future competition. Same happens to me on university now, even worse than it was in elementary and high school. And it sucks

It's because people are framed and narrow-minded, especially 'authorities' on retarded Balkan. And no, I won't kill myself, I would rather kill what kills me. To explain that, I'll go a bit off-topic. People here in Croatia (and I guess everywhere) are killing themselves (commiting a suicide) because of loan sharks. They borrowed money to survive, but loan sharks are pounding abnormal interests which are impossible to give back by 'normal' people, so they are intimidating, assaulting and killing family of people that borrowed money, also destroying items owned by those who borrowed. To avoid those horrors, people are often suiciding. I would never do that. I would rather kill those loan sharks and go in jail than kill myself. Suicide is never a solution. I don't defend their money borrow, especially if they know they can't give it back. But I understand life is not piece of cake, people have bad destinies and luck. They do it from despair. But non loan shark can be crazier than me if I get in such a bad, hopless life situation.

it works like this , so during class every day when teacher explains for example chapter 1 of XXX subject, the next day she will raise couple of students and ask them about chapter 1 she explained the day before. And based on their answers to teachers questions, they will get a grade.

In elementary 1 - awful, retard, failed 2 - awful, retard, passed 3 - oh wow, you opened your books 4 - you gave it some time 5 - dayum boy, congratz then all grades from one subject + opinion of a teacher (he can literally give you 3 for final grade for his subject, no matter if you had 5, 5, 5, 5) form final grade from that subject, most of teacher keeps to arthimetic mean then all final grades for every subject are looked and they find average for that school year You can fail in every grade, but they prefer to let it to professors (in 5th grade we get professors where only one person teach you one subject, before one person would teach you all subjects). Professors will fail you only if you can't be arsed to do anything, don't care, don't come to classes, make trouble. In high school there is no mercy, you don't know, bye bye. We have oral exams, usually we get in front of blackboard and answer questions, or you will be told talk me about xxx lesson. If you are comunicative oral exams are great for you, if you are not, or teacher doesn't like you, well, you are screwed. I personally like oral exams because I have awful handwritting, and in our written exams you have to write everything, you can't choose a, b, c or d in uni 5- you fail 6- you pass, barely 7- so you were coming to lessons ? 8- nice 9- (from hard subjects like anatomy in medicine, people don't know for grades higher than 8) well done young colleague 10- lel, good job, do you have social life ?

English, Hindi, French/German/Sanskrit(choose any one) we have to do. Then also for other subjects like Physics Chemistry Biology, Economics Bla Bla Bla where you have to write a big-ish project over a couple months for each subject then they ask you questions based on it. You Americans even get calculators in maths classes right? Lucky fags...

Not really. You require 17/30 to pass the national tests and the 80% of Dominicans who took it passed last year. Either this is further proof that exams aren't the best way to evaluate the people or our exams are too damm easy.

Macedonia you have from 1-5 , 1 is lowest and 5 is highest if you have two subjects or more with 1's at the end of the year you might not pass that school year (if you are 2nd year high school year you wont pass to 3rd high school year) If you have all subjects as 5's you can be nominated to be student of the year or smthn like that , and with all 5's i think the state subsides your studying...

In Greece in the first two grades of primary school there are no grades, in the third and fourth we have A-B-C-D (and maybe more letters but I've never seen someone get less than D) and in the last two grades 1-10 with 10 being the best. In junior highschool and highschool we have 1-20 with 20 being best and you have to get more than 10 to pass
