First, let us step back and acknowledge the purpose of an online game: to socialize and have a good time, those that do not have fun here go off and switch games, simple.

Now, examine the "fault" that was perpetrated. Which was the use of this symbol less than a dozen timies: ด็็็็็้้้้
Of course, there is over usage symbols towards the ending of cw, but almost never with mal-intent. Even during cw, if chat gets a bit chaotic/spammy, you can always turn off game chat; however, in this case it was not. Instead, not even a warning was given, and resulted in 3 players getting effectively 2 days of all-chat mutes claiming that it "bugged my chat". This is not the case, read here: http://stackoverflow.com/questions/10414864/whats-up-with-these-unicode-combining-characters-and-how-can-we-filter-them

It is not just this incident but a trend of some members of a moderating community that feel that they have to prove their "legitimacy/power" once they have it. I ask you, does this sound like someone who should be representative of AtWar and be the one responsible of moderating a community? Someone who enforces rules when they wish and only when it annoys them and themselves only?

And let us go back to the purpose of a game and AtWar: to have fun. If this symbol is annoying to you, then simply turn off game chat and/or ignore the player's messages. And cases of over use, a 30 minute mute would suffice to say that "your use of this character is severely disruptive to the enjoyment of the game". Keep in mind that this was not block of text covering the screen with just one symbol. On the other hand, a 2000 minute mute effectively prevents gameplay for 2 days for 3 players, curtailing the very purpose of their responsibility and of AtWar.

Three players should not bare the tantrum of a single moderator from his/her personal temper.

Please talk to moderator(s) about this privately.

Don't spam in chat messages that are not useful... symbols like your example are not used for "socializing" so don't use them.
