It would be cool if there was a stat on your profile showing your current and highest winning/losing streak.

If you leave games losses don't count so it would be hugely artificial.

Easy fix, when you leave a game it ends the streak. Doesn't count as a loss, just resets the count.

I agree. Guest's suggestion is the easiest fix in my opinion.
